Cake and birthday fun? YES please!!!! Liliana was such a joy to work with and photograph during her one-year portrait session at my studio in Idaho Falls. She is so cute and has the sweetest smiles! And it’s safe to say that she enjoyed smashing her cake! It was awesome!

Funny story….the cake totally fell apart before the session. LOL We really tried to put it back together the best we could, but white frosting, red jelly and chocolate cake are hard to patch up. I think I need to learn some basic cake skills so I can be more prepared for future cake smashes.

Meet Elsie! I had the pleasure of photographing her for her big milestone 1 year session and cake smash (before Covid-19). She was so incredibly sweet and fun to work with, I could have photographed her all day long! We had lots of fun, and here is a little look at at some of Elsie’s birthday pictures:

Elsie loved smashing her cake, and when all was said and done, there was not much cake left at all! I LOVE a good cake smash, and even more, I love a good MESS!!!!! Elsie is an awesome cake smashing artist!

Here a sweet image from Liam’s newborn session. He was born close to Valentine’s Day so of course we incorporated the colors of the holiday! When he returned for his one year photos in January 2020 we took a few v-day inspired images again! It’s so fun to see how Liam has changed! He is such a handsome and happy little man!

You may remember some of Liam’s one year old photos that I posted in February 2020 around Valentine’s Day. (He is almost a Valentine’s Baby!) Well something called covid-19 made all our lives chaos and forced us to prioritize and change routines (like having to home school and stay at home for around 3 months, and more). Well, things are starting to quiet down a bit and I finally got to edit the last birthday images of Liam that his family picked! Liam is such a handsome little dude and he rocked his cake smash session, I just HAD to show you some of the cuteness!

Liam was SO MUCH FUN during his cake smash! He looked, he tasted, he smashed, he grabbed handfuls, and got super messy (just the way I LIKE IT!!!!!). We ended with some splash time in the small bathtub full of bubbles and as you can see….he loved every minute of that bath! Cake Smash + Bath Splash = AWESOME!!!!!!! From the first look at the cake to the last splash in the tub, we caught it all. It’s a fun story to see unfold in the images. Here is just a little look at some of the mess we made!

Someone sweet is turning ONE!!!!!! I can’t believe how much this sweet girl has grown up. Astraea is now crawling, walking, mostly running and has the most adorable personality! It was an absolute joy photographing her at my studio in Idaho Falls, ID. She enjoyed smashing the cake and throwing it around, just not eating it. Nevertheless, she did GREAT during her cake smash. I remember Landon’s newborn portrait session like it was yesterday…

And now this sweet boy is turning ONE!!! I can’t believe it, time went so fast!!!! It was so fun to see Landon again and get to know his personality, and see his sweet smiles. He’s definitely an active boy, and would prefer to crawl than sit still. Totally normal for a 1 year old. It was a joy to photograph Landon again for his milestone 1st birthday! Do you remember these sweet tiny twins? I will never forget them, and how good they did at their newborn portrait session.

All of the sudden one year flew by and now it’s time to celebrate Emmaline and Elizabeth’s birthday!!!!! Yay!!! Both girls were so sweet, and so fast. Ha Ha Ha! These girls could escape anything I put them in, and they weren’t scared at all. Myself, grandma and mom were very careful to stay close to each baby to make sure they were safe! We also did lots of chasing around! Typical with a one year portrait session.

I thought this was so cute, how they both stood up in the chair, used the same hand to balance, looked in the same direction. The images were shot several minutes apart but both Emmaline and Elizabeth did the exact same thing when we sat them in the chair. They are ready to RUN!!!!

The twins enjoyed their cake smash! From trying to eat confetti, eating their cakes, throwing their cakes around, crawling off the set, and finally to a bath to get all cleaned up. Oh what messy fun we had!

Yep! They smashed those cakes until they were UN-recognizable!!!! Happy birthday E & E!!!!!!!!

Alexis is turning one year old!!!! It has been so fun to photograph her throughout this year and see her grow up. She started out so small and squishy as a newborn:

And now she is close to walking, has a fun personality, beautiful smile, and grew a little bit more hair! 🙂 LOL Enjoy a look at some of Alexis’s 1 year child portrait session that was photographed in my studio in Idaho Falls.

I love this first shot of Alexis when we sat her down by her cake. I wonder what she was thinking? Ewwwww? Or maybe ‘what is that thing’? After the initial introduction, she had a great time smashing that cake! There wasn’t much left. 🙂 Go Alexis! The messier the better!
