This family was SO MUCH FUN to photograph, and the weather on session night couldn’t have been more perfect! It’s finally starting to warm up in Idaho!!!! And I am looking forward to shooting outdoors more now that the sun is shining. 🙂 Meet Ivorie. 3 years old and loves getting her picture taken.
I was working in my prop room today, cleaning up a bit and making sure everything was in it’s proper place. As I was ‘working’ (who can even call it work when I enjoy doing it so much???), I realized how much I LOVE my prop room. I have been doing newborn photography for 9 years now (it will be 10 years in January 2018 woot!), and I have collected quite the assortment of beautiful colorful props. This is just one section of my prop room, where I keep some of the bean bag posing fabrics, flokati rugs, buckets and bucket stuffers. Don’t worry my neutral lovin’ friends and clients….the other side of my room has PLENTY of props for you too! This side just makes me SMILE. I hope you enjoy a little look inside my prop room. Maybe someday I’ll share a little bit more, but here is a look at my ‘happy place’.

This family was such a joy to hang out with and photograph! Nikki is the talented gal behind one of my favorite newborn prop shops, Craft Nikki on Etsy. It is SO fun to have her close by, and to be able to call her when I have a prop emergency. 🙂 She takes such good care of me, she is incredibly talented, and she is lucky girl to have so many handsome boys in her life! Watching this family interact was so incredibly sweet. There is no doubt that they love and adore each other very much! And now, that love is captured forever.
Family pictures have a special place in my heart. 🙂 It is SO incredibly sweet to see and feel the love that family members have for one another as they interact during a family portrait session. And every time I look at the images, I remember that love, that joy and it makes me smile all over again. In my opinion, there is nothing better to have on your wall than a picture, a piece of art, that reminds you how much you love and appreciate your family. I realized the other day when I was hanging out with my ADORABLE nephew that I never blogged his newborn pictures!!! He was born back in early December, and was such a cute little thing. He came into the world with a smile and a little bit of hair on his cute noggin. 🙂 Here are some pics I took at the hospital on the day I first met him:
We took some newborn pictures when he was about 8 days old. Oh those lips!!!!! They kill me. 🙂 Wes had enough hair at 8 days old to style into a small mohawk. All his hair disappeared a few days later. Good thing we have proof of the mohawk for posterity!
And here he is, when he was almost 3 months old: 
Wes is 5 months old now, and is starting to get better at sitting. You better believe that when he can sit like a pro, I’ll be taking more pictures of this handsome little dude. Man, I love this kid. I feel so blessed to have my family nearby, so I can enjoy my nieces and nephews.

I’ve been working on this wall display FOREVER!!!! And I’m SO happy to finally have it up on the wall for all my clients to enjoy.
My little sister is getting MARRIED!!!!!! And I am honored that she asked me to take her engagement pictures. I can’t wait to show you more of this session….but we do have to save SOME of the fun images for their wedding invitation. 🙂
