We had an AWESOME time at the March/April 2017 Creative Captures Photography Workshop at Jennifer Nace’s studio in Waseca, MN!!! The models were fantastic, the students were energetic, kind, talented and fun. And the weekend was full of learning, inspiration, creativity, and of course….working with COLOR!!!! We had fun photographing several handsome boys on day 1, working on several different poses and lighting techniques for newborns and children:

On day 2 we photographed girls, and they were all so sweet and cooperative! We got to take lots of pictures and work on more posing and lighting. We also covered editing, business, marketing, client communication, session prep, cake smashes, set creation, color, and answered any and all questions! In January I had an amazing opportunity to travel to Malaga Spain, and participate in the 1st edition of the Baby&Kid España conference. Spain is such a beautiful place, with even more beautiful people. Every one I met was so kind and welcoming and made me feel at home, even though I was 5,274 miles away from home. We had beautiful little models for the newborn workshop, and here are some of the fun images we captured:

My husband came to Malaga with me, and was a magnificent assistant, as well as the designated cell-phone-picture-taker while I was working. 🙂 And thanks to him, I have a few behind-the-scenes photos to share with you! First, this is Antonio. He volunteered his beautiful studio in Malaga for the newborn workshop and was an amazing host! His studio was perfect, large and spacious, filled with beautiful artwork on the walls, and stocked with all the supplies, equipment and props that I could have ever needed to photograph 3 sweet models. I am so excited to be offering SPRING MINI SESSIONS this year! Sessions will be available on

Friday Feb 24th ~ 9am to 2pm

Friday March 3rd ~ 9am to 2pm

Saturday March 4th ~ 9am to 2pm

Mini sessions are $115 plus tax per child and include a 5-10 minute session, 5-7 digital images via digital download, and a print release allowing you to make prints or enlargements for your personal use. Ages 6 months to 8 years. (Families with 4 or more children please contact me for a special rate, immediate family only.)

Hi there! I just wanted to let all my clients’ know that all sessions and blog posts from 2009 to about 2012 have been archived.

I had to make room for NEW images and projects I’m working on!!! Like these NEW digital backdrops! I arranged all the fun props and took a picture, so all YOU have to do is use Photoshop to place your baby into the digital backdrop. It is SOOOO easy, and YOU don’t have to buy or store all the props since I already did. They really are fun to use and my client have been loving them!
