We had SO MUCH FUN at the April 13-14 2018 Creative Captures Photography Workshop! We had an awesome group of students and wonderful models to work with. The only hiccup was, Minnesota had a blizzard warning for Saturday, the last day of our workshop. And boy they weren’t kidding. There was no snow at the beginning of the workshop on Sat, but by 4:30pm there was nearly a foot of snow! And….it was blowing and drifting like crazy. Many of us had to get to Minneapolis that night to catch early Sunday morning flights, which is about an hour drive from the studio. We decided to brave the storm, but it was definitely treacherous on some of the country roads. The usual 60 minute drive took us about 2 hours, but we made it safely to the hotel near the airport! And then…we learned that they had shut down the entire airport. Which effected all flights for the next 2-3 days. My Sunday morning flight was cancelled and I had to wait until Monday morning to fly home. Minnesota seriously has some crazy weather!!! But the weather didn’t stop us from having a great time, learning lots, and photographing some super cute babies:
This ended up being my favorite set up! I’d had this floral posing fabric for a while and REALLY wanted to use it. So I brought it to the workshop and I am in love with how it photographs. It’s so colorful and vibrant, yet, baby is still the star of the show! I hope I’ll have the opportunity to use this posing fabric again, it really is beautiful. Next time…..with bright pink accessories!!!! <3

Our sitter model was SO adorable, everyone wanted to take her home. 🙂 She was just too sweet, and gave us lots of cute expressions.
On day 2 of the workshop we had boys lined up to model. But because of the blizzard, only one model was able to make it to the studio. He was adorable and I really enjoyed the 2 set ups that I got to do with him. I can’t wait to see what Jennifer Nace was able to capture of this handsome little man. Isn’t he just precious? 
Our workshop group was amazing and very talented! I am so lucky to be able to call them all my friends. We keep in touch on-line, and continue helping each other learn and grow. I miss you all! What a fun and memorable time we had! I love teaching and helping other photographers to improve their technical skills, their businesses, and hopefully their lives too, with tips and tricks for better pictures straight off the camera, shorter session times, quicker editing, and more time for fun and family. THANK YOU to everyone who has chosen me to be their mentor. It is truly an honor to share with you everything that I have learned about photography in the last 10 years! Yep, I’ve been doing this for 10 years now. 🙂 I hope I will still have more opportunities to teach in the future.
