Caralee Case Photography – Newborn Photography Workshop in Georgetown, KY

Can you tell that we had a GREAT time at the Georgetown, Kentucky newborn workshop last weekend?!?! These ladies were awesome, such a fun group and so excited to learn and practice.  They also know and support each other, I’ve never met such a tight-knit group.  It makes me so happy to see photographers helping each other out.

Creative Captures Photography Workshop April 2018 | CARALEE CASE Idaho Falls PHOTOGRAPHER

We had SO MUCH FUN at the April 13-14 2018 Creative Captures Photography Workshop! We had an awesome group of students and wonderful models to work with. The only hiccup was, Minnesota had a blizzard warning for Saturday, the last day of our workshop. And boy they weren’t kidding. There was no snow at the beginning of the workshop on Sat, but by 4:30pm there was nearly a foot of snow! And….it was blowing and drifting like crazy.  Many of us had to get to Minneapolis that night to catch early Sunday morning flights, which is about an hour drive from the studio.  We decided to brave the storm, but it was definitely treacherous on some of the country roads.  The usual 60 minute drive took us about 2 hours, but we made it safely to the hotel near the airport!  And then…we learned that they had shut down the entire airport.  Which effected all flights for the next 2-3 days.  My Sunday morning flight was cancelled and I had to wait until Monday morning to fly home.  Minnesota seriously has some crazy weather!!!  But the weather didn’t stop us from having a great time, learning lots, and photographing some super cute babies:

This ended up being my favorite set up!  I’d had this floral posing fabric for a while and REALLY wanted to use it.  So I brought it to the workshop and I am in love with how it photographs.  It’s so colorful and vibrant, yet, baby is still the star of the show!  I hope I’ll have the opportunity to use this posing fabric again, it really is beautiful.  Next time…..with bright pink accessories!!!!  <3Caralee Case Photography Newborn Posing and Editing Workshop

ARGENTINA Congreso Smile Photography Conference and Workshop March 2018 | CARALEE CASE

In late March I had the opportunity to present at the Congreso Smile Conference in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and also give 2 full day newborn posing and editing workshops!  At the first workshop we had the sweetest baby boys come model for us.   They didn’t want to sleep at first, but eventually they gave in and posed beautifully for us.

In the afternoon we spent time learning to edit newborn skin, and also had time for all the students questions regarding business, pricing, marketing, lens choices, working with parents, client communication, selling products, and so much more! z (14) z (13)

Thank you to Catalina Avila and Congreso Smile for this wonderful opportunity.  I LOVE Argentina, and the photographers there are some of the sweetest and most welcoming people I have ever met.  I was sad to leave, but my husband and I made many great memories there that we will cherish forever.

In December I had the privilege of attending  and teaching about newborn photography at Congreso Smile in Guadalajara, Mexico.   It was my first time to Mexico and I absolutely LOVED it!  The photographers were amazing and so kind and welcoming.   During my one-day workshop we had 3 beautiful models to work with, 2 girls and one boy.  It was fun to work on posing, lighting, angles, exposure, and so much more, right alongside the students.  And then we ended our day with editing.  THANK YOU to everyone who helped to make this conference and workshop a success!  And now…..here are some of the fun images we took, and a few behind-the-scenes surprises too.

This has been a year of SO many firsts, and so many adventures in photography for me! Including my first time to Argentina!!! In October 2017 I had the pleasure of attending the Baby & Kid Argentina Conference in Buenos Aires, as a teacher and speaker.  I taught a one-day newborn workshop where we focused on lighting, posing, editing and so much more!  Our first little model was such a handsome boy:

Creative Captures Photography Workshop Sept 2017 | CARALEE CASE

It was such a joy to be able to teach at the Sept 2017 Creative Captures Photography Workshop! Once again, we gathered with an awesome, fun, talented group of photographers at Jennifer Nace’s studio in Waseca, MN!!! Our models were super sweet and cooperative, and the weekend was full of learning, inspiration, creativity, and so much more!!!! We photographed several handsome boys on day 1, working on several different poses and lighting techniques for newborns:

Such a fun group of ladies!!!  I love making new friends that enjoy photography as much as I do.  It’s wonderful to have a support system in this industry.DSC_3375 900 On day 2 we photographed more beautiful newborn babies, and worked on posing, transitioning, lighting, angles, exposure, color, working with props, wrapping and more.  This time, it was the girls turn! My friend Becky, is the creator and the artist behind all the magic that happens at Intuition Backgrounds.  I’ve been working with her for many years now, but more importantly, she has been a wonderful, caring friend to me.  And when she had her baby girl in August, it was such an honor to be asked to go to Perryville, Missouri to photograph her sweet newborn, Ella, along with my bff Jennifer Nace.  We got to photograph baby Ella at the NEW Intuition Backgrounds Studio, where they print and ship all the backdrops and props.  It was fun to have access to a variety of backdrops and floors and props, and a pleasure to meet Becky’s sweet little baby girl.  Here is a little behind the scenes video put together by Intuition Backgrounds:
